Controversial. Probably already from the get-go. In 2001 Bart Coninckx started his musical project in his home studio, back then under the "Pitch Black" moniker. After several silent years he gathered some new technological toys for his studio, which led to a more professional sound. 

This convinced him to produce a sound that tries to break all rules and rips any box that is being thought out of, apart. Some time ago he released his debut album "Second Genesis" independently. Clever industrial. Because it isn't "pure" industrial and because it defies all other genres, it carries along the shambles of this destruction, neatly organizing everything into brutal chaos.

Bart reports that Cleopatra Records showed interest in the album and will release it (again). To celebrate this, he offered us his newest videoclip for "Violence": a sonic rollercoaster that is constructed cleverly, with raw guitars, enticing rhythms, and intelligent use of samples. Controversial knows how to build a real wall of sound all by itself.
